In a society where consumer culture dictates you to have a super house, a super car, and super girlfriend, you need to be superior in all fields. So my panic is not a slimy little panic. No, my panic is a super panic. I love the idea that competition as a basic human principle diffuses in to all fields of social behavior. Maybe one day it becomes so absurd
