The dress is fully lined in a cafe au lait silk and closes down the front with buttons and hook & eye

Note that thought the measurements seem generous the cut is deceptive and this will work best on a girl who is a smaller size

The panels are all pieced and hand placed to create a tubular feel and then seaming allows the skirt to widen out and float with a little bit of volume

The hem is very deep - a full 9" and I suspect it was turned up at some point to shorten the skirt

Even though is now almost 90 years old it feel remarkably fresh. It really is an exceptional piece. This would have been considered lingerie when it was first made but now it is entirely appropriate as a piece to wear on its own as a jumpsuit. It is made from a beautiful weight silk that is that perfect shade of pink nude peach that seems to have only been done to this exact just right during the 1930s.
