This is a custom made coat that utilizes the fabric from the traditional Tehuantepec embroidered cloth. Those original textiles are absolutely beautiful examples of Mexican textile art. They were hand woven and were part of the traditional dress from the Tehuantepec area of Oaxaca. Frida Kahlo was known to wear pieces with this embroidered work on them.
