Downpour Octopus 12"x 24" acrylics on canvas24" x 36" acrylics on canvas. 2012. I remember the concept for this piece came to me as I thought about the nearly endless rain in the Pacific Northwest, which seemed to assault us even during the early summer outdoor shows that year. I decided I needed to embrace the rain rather than resent it. I reflected on how, as a kid, those dark, rainy days were always my favorite.
