WT #23, Hollow Form Vessel from Catalpa one I recently got a lot

I recently got a lot of Tamarisk after I was contacted by the Colorado State Forestry Service

The wood was given to me by my dear old friend Mel

buffed cyanoacrylate finish

This piece is the most challenging hollow form I have turned thus far due to the large number of voids in the wall of the vessel combined with the burl having grown around 4 different large rocks that I had to dig out and remove from the interior of the piece during the hollowing process

The tree is scrubby and not too attractive but the wood is beautiful

WT #23, Hollow Form Vessel from Catalpa one I recently got a lotCatalpa Void Form, 9 T x 9. 5W. Hole in top 2 1 16. Mineral oil, beeswax, and CA finish. I recovered this wood when they were remodeling a business lot in Grand Junction and removed 3 very old Catalpa trees with trunks that were 3 foot in diameter.
