Punt e Mes Vermouth - 16% - 750ml Blended Malt which is quite high forCreated by Carpano back in the 1870s, this vermouth has a base of white wine, with over 10 different herbs and spices added in it. It is sweetened and fortified., and the addition of quinine makes for quite a bitter liquid. An aromatic nose of cinnamon, tobaccos and Christmas cake. The bittersweet palate is nicely balanced with stewed stone fruits, vanilla and cinnamon. Touch of red fruit on the end. A fruity finish with some tannins apparent also.
