Gambel Oak is very slow growing mountain species and even though this piece is only 7” diameter there are approximately 80 growth rings in it and so much character

The wood is really beautiful and makes for interesting turnings with the irregularities in the trunk shapes and all the deep bark inclusions and opportunities for void space in the finished pieces
