ギタリスト布袋寅泰に初めて会ったのは１９８５年だった。新進気鋭のバンドBOØWYのギタリストだった。あれから３７年間の時が過ぎた。嬉しい出会いも辛い別れもあった。それが人生だと思う。その中で私たちはそれぞれの可能性に賭け、精一杯生きているのだ。その３７年間で私は様々な新しい景色を彼に見せてもらった。私も１０年以上をロンドンで過ごした経験がある。音楽と写真では分野は違うものの、多くのことは共通している。どんな分野でも突き詰めれば、そこには「人生とは？」という一語が残るのだ。何かを達成する人の人生は、才能、努力、挑戦、情熱、そして楽しむことで作られるのではないだろうか。彼の近くにいるとそんなことを感じるのだった。
