Prealbumin Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody, 20ul Peptide Synthesis The F-box proteins are dividedThis gene encodes transthyretin one of the three prealbumins including alpha 1 antitrypsin transthyretin and orosomucoid. Transthyretin is a carrier protein; it transports thyroid hormones in the plasma and cerebrospinal fluid and also transports retinol (vitamin A) in the plasma. The protein consists of a tetramer of identical subunits. More than 80 different mutations in this gene have been reported; most mutations are related to amyloid deposition

Description

The F-box proteins are divided into 3 classes: Fbws containing WD-40 domains| Fbls containing leucine-rich repeats| and Fbxs containing either different protein-protein interaction modules or no recognizable motifs

The protein is a major inhibitor of plasmin| which degrades fibrin and various other proteins

where it generates antigen receptor diversity by synthesizing non-germ line elements (N-regions) at the junctions of rearranged Ig heavy chain and T cell receptor gene segments

The fibrinogen beta chain encoded by FGB is the beta component of fibrinogen

and is therefore a potential candidate gene for this disorder
