There is excellent power and punch to the large-scaled flavors that are a combination of power and refinement while being blessed with an abundance of sappy dry extract that imparts a seductive quality to the mouthcoating

but this is all kept in check by a juicy

2016 Clos de la Roche, Grand Cru, Olivier Bernstein, Burgundy UOM I’ve shared this with friendsMedium deep colour, offering rather less on the nose than its stablemates. The oak is evident a bit on the palate but there is also a marvellous swelling of bright red fruit, then a briary note. Few tannins, easy of access and persistent, not quite the grip of some years.
