This exposes the bottom color while keeping the top of the sheet smooth and flat. Please remember to mirror your text or image before engraving so that it is right side up once the sheet is flipped. This sheet is clear on top and gold on the back. The gold side should be engraved for best results. These sheets have a plastic masking on
