Depression Era Black Amethyst Glass 4-Footed Sugar Bowl Magnesium Topical Spray Dimensions: 5This black amethyst sugar bowl was produced by L. E. Smith between 1925 and 1938. It is part of the "Mt. Pleasant" pattern. It is known as "Double Shield" and features a distinctive scalloped rim and four footed with heavy handles design. Sitting on the shelf it appears black, but pick it up and as the light shines through it a beautiful deep purple color is revealed.
