He moved to Paris France in 1957 to continue his development as an artist and become immersed in the arts. He was one of many brilliant artists that the world lost to AIDS HIV. In addition to his artwork Richard wrote Mihloud. Mihloud was published posthumously and anonymously in France in 1986. The preface to Mihloud was written by Simone de Beauvoir. This was Simones last published work.
