Using the low light to my advantage I was able to use a slower shutter speed on my camera and capture the motion from the water in the image

While walking around Downtown Juneau

I started with photographing some rocks in the lake

As I walked through a small town I noticed this light on the bench sitting along the wall

Well I think this image pretty much sums up an early August afternoon in Juneau

Spring Snow at Sloans Lake Size:11"x14" Using the low light toIt is not uncommon to see snow in the spring around Denver even going into May. This was one of those days when a light dusting of snow fell in Denver overnight greeted with clear skies in the morning. Getting close to the ground I focused on the grass an using a shallow depth of field put the trees in the background out of focus. This allows the viewer to have a sense of place but puts the attention on the snow in the fresh spring growth.
