It is marked GUNT

It is of WW2 vintage without foliage slits and has the typical ‘dragon teeth’ stitching on beach side edging

When acquired the shell was painted in post-war dark green outside and possibly its original factory olive-drab inside

The pigskin leather is ink marked as size 59 (59cm head size) with a correct draw string

The shells were made by the Transvaal Steel Pressing Syndicate. This particular example is not date factory stamped with the year, as I have seen on others.
