The trees and shrubs are covered in buds

which keeps the adult birds constantly venturing out to sea to collect bills full of sand eels and other small fish

Several days of torrential rain, turned the hillside bracken to a rich dark burgundy colour. Then when the sun finally returned, these sombre colours transformed into bright flame oranges.
