To extend collar simply hold top and bottom of metal sliplock and slide away from D ring to create a larger opening. Slip collar over the dogs head, and adjust to tighten. The small loop in the front has the tikidawg label sewn on inside with a D ring for the leash to attach. This helps to prevents the dog from backing out or slipping
