Weaving past small villages Alwinton, Harbottle, Hepple, and Thropton it grows larger and more staid all the way until it reaches Rothbury. Then it continues eastwards, growing ever bigger and bolder all the way, gliding through the larger villages and towns until it reaches Warkworth and Amble, where it loops and flows into the
